KS · KS D3503:2018
Family of unalloyed carbon structural steels used in steel framing, locksmithing/metalwork and light boilermaking for applications without high-strength requirements. It's the most common and cheapest grade on the market, available in nearly every region of the world under closely related designations.

Note: KS D3503 is directly harmonized with JIS G3101 (same SS400 designation, same P/S limits and same mechanical properties); carbon and manganese are not capped in the standard, as with the Japanese equivalent. One secondary source showed anomalous strength values (likely a table-extraction error for a different grade) — the values retained here are those cross-checked against the structurally identical JIS version.
Values compiled from public sources for guidance only — always verify against the official standard before use in design or fabrication.
