ISO/TC 17/SC 4 · ISO 15510
Austenitic-ferritic (duplex) chromium-nickel-molybdenum-nitrogen stainless steel, the most widely used grade in the duplex family. Extensively used in offshore oil & gas piping and flanges for its resistance to pitting and stress-corrosion cracking in seawater/chloride environments, with a yield strength roughly double that of standard austenitic stainless steels (304/316). Not recommended above 300°C (embrittlement) or below -50°C (ductile-to-brittle transition).

Note: Bonus entry (not explicitly requested). ISO 15510 lists the chemical compositions of wrought stainless steels recognized by ISO/TC17/SC4; the symbolic designation X2CrNiMoN22-5-3 is identical there to EN 10088's, since the EN designation system was aligned with ISO's. No ISO standard specifically dedicated to duplex flange forgings was identified from a free public source; the equivalence is therefore one of composition, not necessarily of forged product.
