CEN/EN · EN 10028-2
Family of fine-grain, killed carbon steel plates used to fabricate pressure vessels, boilers, separators and petrochemical equipment operating at moderate temperature (generally -30°C to roughly 400-500°C depending on grade). It's the most common plate family in industrial boilermaking, offering an excellent strength/weldability balance.

Note: A European grade considered by most distributors to be the closest functional match to ASTM A516 Gr.70 (very comparable yield strength and tensile strength), although the composition ranges (notably Mn, Si) and test conditions differ. The Cr+Cu+Mo+Ni ≤ 0.70% limit is an additional constraint specific to the EN standard. The 355 MPa yield strength only applies to thicknesses ≤16 mm and decreases with thickness (down to 280 MPa beyond 100 mm).
